JOB TITLE: Director, Information Technology
DEPARTMENTS: President / CEO

Job Summary:
The Director of Information Technology (DIT) will lead, direct, and coordinate all day-to-day activities of the Information Technology department across the SCCA in support of our stated mission. The DIT collaborates with the Executive Team, all Departments, and end-users to develop, and execute the Club’s strategic information technology plan. The DIT is knowledgeable and current in the wide range of technologies available to best support Club operations and applies this knowledge to implement technology solutions that solve business challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate extensively with all internal stakeholder teams in service of developing, deploying, and improving critical IT solutions / infrastructure in support of our stated Mission. Core stakeholders: Board of Directors, Executive Team plus all Program, Membership, Region Services, Marketing, Finance, and Sanction teams.
- Lead, guide, and direct all IT department personnel, key contractors, and all technology partners. The SCCA DIT is a “player coach” who can lead and do, effectively and consistently. The DIT is responsible for supervising all IT employees, contractors, and technology partners. As such this position is key to bringing insight and oversight to all key initiatives.
- Lead, direct, and manage all SCCA enterprise network and IT systems and services.Ensure core business operations and the technology that support same, operate and with maximum effectiveness and minimal downtime.
- Lead, guide, and direct the development and implementation of critical hardware and software systems required to support and fulfill the SCCA mission. Keep all enterprise systems up-to-date and current with advances in technology.
- Develop and maintain enterprise network security for the company across all key systems, applications, platforms, and databases.
- Lead, guide and direct IT Disaster Recovery plan and Data Backup Systems to ensure that all critical data is backed up and archived for safety and access to retrieval when restoration of data is required due to accidental data loss or catastrophic circumstances and acts of God.
- Develop, manage, and track annual IT Department budget while contributing to meeting and exceeding SCCA, Inc. Annual Operating Plan budget.
Experience and Skills
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or a closely related field.
Special Training or Experience: 7–10 years of progressively responsible Information Technology leadership and responsibilities, with demonstrated team and project leadership experience.
Core Skills:
- The ability to collaborate with others in service of planning, directing , and leading the work of a small Team to achieve significant outcomes.
- Broad based technology background covering application development, infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, and security.
- Project management ability, organizational skills, facilitation and motivation skills, strong interpersonal, analytical, and written and oral communication skills.
- Record of accomplishment for delivering projects on-time and within budget.
- Enterprise-wide network and application security as well as enterprise virus protection, detection, and cleansing.
- Advanced knowledge of C#, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and related technologies is required.
- Experience and knowledge of Object Oriented, Test Driven, and Agile development.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases and database applications; experience with report writers. Knowledge of MySQL.
- Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Windows Networks including backup and recovery of server data.
- An understanding of the SCCA’s structure, membership, customers, and the constituencies the Club office supports is helpful but not required. Experience working with membership organizations is significant value add.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant IT or cybersecurity certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (or equivalent).
Reporting Relationships
This Position Reports to: President / CEO and this position is part of the Executive Team. Additionally, this Position has supervisory and/or management responsibility for: developers, desktop support, and assigned contractors.
Position location
Given the importance of building relationship and connectivity, it is preferred that this position be based full time out of our corporate office in Topeka, Kansas.
Travel Requirements
Support three - five SCCA events per year.
Environmental Requirements
Work is conducted in outdoor motorsports and in indoor business environments. Some exposure to unfavorable conditions may be encountered during travel for business requirements located within the areas as well as to member locations.
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking 10% of the time, standing 30% and sitting 60% of the time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 10 pounds daily.
- Ability to participate in high level as well as routine conversation.
- Conditions may require work in low and bright light; use of near and far vision acuity; use of depth perception, color sensitivity, and a field of vision (peripheral vision).

Sports Car Club of America is seeking an enthusiastic, organized candidate for its Road Racing Program Assistant Manager position. This Topeka-based position provides administrative and operational support to the SCCA’s racing programs, including the U.S. Majors Tour, Hoosier Super Tour, National Championship Runoffs, regional programs and volunteer committees. JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager/Senior Administrator

Job Summary: Responsible for providing support for the overall road racing program, including the U.S. Majors Tour, Hoosier SCCA Super Tour, National Championship Runoffs and local racing initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist the Director of Road Racing in the formation of department event operational goals and the supporting strategies and tactics.
- Assist Director of Road Racing as needed in daily operations of Road Racing Program.
- Assist Regions and individual members with Road Racing Program processes and procedures.
- Schedule meetings, webinars, events in support of the Road Racing Volunteer Committees and Field Staff.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Executive Stewards and Divisional Administrator Coordinators, providing support, materials and regular conference calls.
- Assist with Road Racing Accredited Driver School Program, maintaining contracts, invoicing, and administrative activities.
- Assist the Director of Road Racing with the U.S. Majors Tour and Hoosier SCCA Super Tour series.
- Manage the processing, uploading and auditing of U.S. Majors Tour points and Regional participation records.
- Perform general event operational functions for the Runoffs® including:
- Website posting of Runoffs information for the event
- Event entry processing for drivers and volunteers
- Manage vendor registrations and assignments
- Develop and run event reports
- Develop event materials and other items as necessary in cooperation with Marketing Dept
- Non-racing aspects of event, including social event enhancements
- Assist with post-event recaps
- Prepare data reports and charts for department analysis, as needed.
- Assist with management and response of the Road Racing Department general e-mail and phone messaging systems.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in customer service
Competencies Required:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and Web-based applications.
- Familiarity with Sports Car Club of America, motorsports and membership-based organizations are all beneficial
Reporting Relationships:
- This position reports to the Director, Road Racing
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires occasional travel to race facilities across the United States (2-4 times per year).
- Attendance at National Championship Runoffs (11-13-day trip)
